The tender asks for IRAP or VERS
IRAP is an Australian government security assessment. VERS is Victoria’s records standard. AvePoint holds both, with case studies at councils and universities in Australia and New Zealand. ArchiveBridge has neither.
When the storage bill is the problem
Your SharePoint storage is full. Much of it hasn’t changed in years, but nobody will delete it because somebody might need a file. There’s no retention schedule to enforce. Just an invoice.
ArchiveBridge moves those files to cheaper storage and leaves a link where each one was. Each copy is checked before the original is removed. Press Restore and the file goes back to its folder.

What ArchiveBridge doesn’t do
No records management
ArchiveBridge is a storage and backup tool, not a records-management system. It doesn’t classify content or run disposal workflows.
Holds and retention policies are not read
Files with a retention label that locks them as a record are skipped and left in SharePoint. ArchiveBridge doesn’t read retention policies, legal holds or eDiscovery holds, so leave held sites out of archiving. Backups still copy held, labelled and record-locked files.
No IRAP or VERS, and no certificates of our own
The Australian service runs with hosting, database and storage providers certified to ISO 27001. Those certificates are theirs. Our own SOC 2 and ISO 27001 are on the roadmap, with no date yet.
Files leave Microsoft 365
Archived files leave Microsoft 365 for the storage you choose, so Microsoft’s compliance tools no longer cover them. If regulated content must never leave Microsoft 365, that’s a fair rule, and ArchiveBridge is the wrong tool. The IT pack’s data-flow diagram shows where files go.

What is a good alternative to AvePoint Opus?
It depends on why you considered Opus. If you need records management and disposal across SharePoint, Exchange and Teams, stay with a governance platform. If you need a smaller SharePoint storage bill, use a SharePoint archiver. ArchiveBridge moves files nobody has changed in a long time to cheaper storage and leaves a link where each one was.
How much does AvePoint Opus cost?
When we checked on 30 September 2026, AvePoint didn’t publish Opus pricing. Its Opus page offers a demo request. Ask them for the cost per terabyte a month and compare it with ArchiveBridge’s pricing page.
Does ArchiveBridge do records management like AvePoint?
No. ArchiveBridge is a storage and backup tool, not a records-management system. It doesn’t classify content or run disposal workflows. Files with a retention label that locks them as a record are skipped and left in SharePoint. It does not read retention policies, legal holds or eDiscovery holds, so keep sites under a hold or a retention policy out of archiving. You choose which sites and folders are archived. On a site under a Microsoft retention policy, Microsoft keeps its own copy of deleted files, so archiving there may not free space until the policy period ends. Backups still copy held, labelled and record-locked files, because backup never changes or removes anything.
Can I keep my archived files in Australia?
Yes, on the Australian service. The service database and processing run in Sydney. Managed storage defaults to Sydney, and you can review the destination during setup. If you bring your own cloud storage, the files stay wherever you put them.
What happens to my files if I leave?
They are ordinary files in standard cloud storage, under their original names and folders, readable with common cloud-storage tools. With your own cloud storage, they’re already yours. With managed storage, you choose. Restore everything to SharePoint for free. Or we hand you the admin details of your dedicated storage account, and you keep paying for that storage or move the files to an account of your own. Or we delete it on request. A full export to storage elsewhere, done by us, is quoted first. Restore before you go, because the link files need ArchiveBridge to work.
Does ArchiveBridge work for IT providers with many clients?
Yes. One console covers every client. Each client keeps its own Microsoft 365 connection, storage and policy, with usage metered separately. The client’s own admin approves your access. Partner pricing is agreed on approval, and you set your own client prices.
